So unless you've been living under the social media equivalent of a rock, which is basically no internet access, you will know that the blogosphere exploded this weekend at the heightened infuriation of many bloggers towards those who use instagram bots and the purchasing of Instagram followers. Social blade charts and exposure of the culprits were, and continue to be plastered all over Twitter for all the blogosphere to see. Now do not get it twisted by the title of this post, that I don't take this situation very seriously and that I do not share a similar disgust for this dishonest and frankly fraudulent behaviour of many well known and well liked members of our community because believe me, I think bots, fake followers and even Instagram pods, SUCK. However, what also sucks is how much people are investing their time into trying to expose people and sometimes getting it terribly wrong, there's one thing debating on the subject and then there's another falsely accusing hard working bloggers, another case of swings and roundabouts right?!
Today's post is a little light hearted but gentle reminder that there are at the very least 10 more important things than Instagram, I hope you enjoy.

I mean, if you haven't watched Prison Break, just leave this post now, open up Netflix and begin this binge worthy beauty of a box set because your life will never be complete without Michael Schofield and the gang mind fucking you. For the rest of you that have watched it, the return of Prison Break has been highly anticipated for so long and is not failing to disappoint so far, there is no social blade chart dodgy enough to overshadow the twists and turns we are in for in this new season.

#2 CHEESE...
Mozzarella, Camembert, Cheddar, Edam, Gouda, Philadelphia, Parmesan, Babybel, Cheese String, no flatlay can outdo cheese, except possibly a flatlay of a cheese board.

The muggle version of Dolores Umbridge AKA Theresa May has called for a snap election on June 8th 2017 & it couldn't have come at a better time, it has completely overtaken the Instagram subject on social media, and I couldn't be more thankful/ In my opinion, if there is anything worth more discussing it is the rapid changes affecting our country and the ways that we can have an affect on it, positively and the first step to making those positive changes is by registering to vote, make sure you are registered right HERE, it takes 60 seconds, execute your right to be a part of a positive change.

Again, another more serious and by far more important topic in your best interests as an individual, is remembering to check that you bare no suspicious lumps or bumps. I mean, this is a pretty morbid subject, but it's so important and so much more important than Instagram to practice good self care. Here are some awesome sites for checking lumps for men and women...

Okay, not everybody cares, but as a Liverpool fan this is much more important than Instagram. Right now, the top four is so tight, and for a Liverpool fan the only thing worse than not finishing top four, is not finishing top four because of Manches
ter United.

We're all so quick to jump on the bandwagon when it's time to call someone out, expose or unfold drama, but when was the last time you retweeted a great post by someone you think is killing it? When was the last time you complimented or gave constructive criticism to a smaller blogger that you could really offer something to? Something that takes you less than 10 seconds could really impact a fellow blogger's day or week, be kind.

Me and Justin try to have one blackout night every single week to just switch off, chat and enjoy each others company without our phones pinging and being glued to our hands. It's so much more than Instagram to give your loved ones the time and attention they deserve, so close down the Instagram app and step away from the phone, even for just one evening, you will realise how much you needed to do it.

Obsessing over the perfection that Instagram paints a picture of on your feed is unhealthy. It is not reality, Instagram is a feed of photos that have been taken nearly 100 times, from 100 angles, in 100 filters. Social media has been proven to really have an affect on our mental health and it isn't hard to see why. Remember, we are all human and social media doesn't define who you are, what you're capable of and how successful you can/will become.

In my opinion, Instagram as a social media is pretty hostile, although likeminded people follow you and like your pictures the opportunity to connect with them on that platform is some what limited. There are a million reasons why twitter is more important than Instagram, there is unlimited opportunities to connect with whoever you like, there's no themes and there's no superficial imagery to hide behind, it's just you and your thoughts, views and opinions. It's micro blogging at it's best, whoever said a pictures speaks a thousand words, didn't have Twitter.

Summer is coming, more bank holidays are coming and that is more important than Instagram. Instead of social blading the shit out of your peers in your bedroom, get outside, get a cocktail, enjoy the sunshine with your friends, because your time is better spent getting some Vitamin D whilst socialising with actual human beings.

I hope you have enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments below what you think is more important than Instagram or let me know how you feel about the latest Instagram revelations to hit the blogosphere!

  1. I definitely agree that there are so many things more important than Instagram. Personally, it's not my social platform of choice. I think the bots killed that for me. I do really love the idea of blackout days and nights. I think I'm going to incorporate that into my routine. I love just getting away from everything, especially technology. It feels so good sometimes!
